"Experience America" in Tampa

DESCRIPTION
The Au Pair Weekend program, "Experience America, " is offered in Tampa through Hillsborough Community College's Institute for Corporate and Continuing Education. This unique and exciting program helps you, as an au pair working in the United States, to gain the most from your American experience.
This program can also satisfy the U.S. Department of State au pair educational requirement. It is very affordable and can be customized to fit your needs.
Explore Our Environment
Get ready to explore the geographically diverse science wonders of the Tampa Bay area through a fun and interesting combination of classroom discussions, field trips, lab work, and tours. You will also gain an understanding of basic environmental topics and applications while exploring the impact and influence of the human race on the environment.
Learn about wilderness geocaching, environmental science, disasters and preparedness, salt water desalinization, healthy habitats, manatees, water chemistry, and more, while visiting places such as: Crystal Springs Preserve, Manatee Viewing Center, Pinellas County Landfill, South Bayou Water Reclamation Facility, Weeki Wachee Springs State Park and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.
COURSE COSTS
The all-inclusive price of $599 includes tuition and registration, course materials, educational excursions including activities and transportation during class hours, as well as three meals.
Housing is NOT provided for students attending this weekend course. Students are encouraged to connect with other au pairs through the Facebook event for their particular course to find and share accommodations.There is limited free parking at The Corporate Training Center.

Thursday: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.Friday: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Attendance is mandatory during the times listed above.
COURSE WORK REQUIREMENTS
To receive the full number of hours for this course you must complete five pre-assignments to prepare before coming to Au Pair Weekend. We also have follow-up activities and assignments that will be explained in detail during the weekend. If you have a completion deadline within a month of your course date, please email the program coordinator in advance to get instructions on starting your post-assignments early, if necessary.
After you've completed all classes, assignments, and activities, you will be eligible to earn 72 hours!
